A tiny abundance story:
Last week I was required to wait for 3 days before going to the grocery store. I was out of apples and wondered how I was going to eat my "apple a day". I reminded myself to have confidence that I would receive an apple a day and to keep an open mind. Monday I went to work and there were a few leftovers from an event available for the teachers one of which was a big apple. I felt that it was for me so I took it with gratitude. Tuesday I went to night class and there were apples among other goodies offered to the students for snacks (there usually aren't any free snacks there). I felt joy choosing an apple. Wednesday I found an apple in the refrigerator under some other produce. Again, I was grateful. I was able to have an apple a day until I was able to go to the grocery store to purchase more apples.
I think that part of the lesson of this story was that I had confidence that I would receive an apple a day and I did receive an apple each day. Another part of the lesson (that I just figured out) is that abundance has to do with what you require each day. If I had received bushels of apples it would have been a burden to figure out what to do with the apples. Awaiting to receive an apple a day from an unknown source took faith and it also produced joy and gratitude. It was like having a little secret santa. It was fun to think about how my apple would "arrive" each day.
Now, to apply these principals that I just experienced to loftier objectives . . . . !
