These beautiful pictures of our Moon were taken with different cameras.

Notice the clarity of the photo on the left, which was taken from the Galileo spacecraft on its way to Jupiter in the early 1990's. The photo on the right is digital and taken from Earth.

Amazing how much detail is available once we get outside our atmosphere!

This image of the Scorpion's Claw Nebula is located in the constellation of Scorpio.
The bright star on the right is Pi Scorpii, which actually forms one of the claws of the scorpion in this starry formation

The red star partially obscured by this nebula is named Menkhib.
Located in the constellation Perseus, scientists believe its surface temperature to be around 66,000 degrees Fahrenheit (about 6 times hotter than our own Sun)

This infrared photo of the Heart and Soul Nebula is located in Perseus.
Also known as the Embryo Nebula, this twin formation is 580,000 light years across.

The astronomer Tycho Brahe first noticed this supernova (an exploding star) in 1572.
It dissipated from his view over a period of two years. Earthly astronomers had to wait until the 1950's to see it again with telescopes. NASA was able to capture this remnant of the event with the WISE telescope.
