Hello, My name is Marla Nargundkar and I live in Atlanta, Georgia. I saw HRM at a talk here a few years ago and was immediately "charged" by all he had to say. I wasn't sure how I was going to make it happen but I certainly wanted to try. His protocol was simple but I was amazed how hard it was to find a good sungazing location given that I live in a hilly area with trees but I found one. Seasons change and the sun's timing changes along with it. I quickly found out that in the winter the sun rises too late for me to gaze and make it to work at 8:15 am. And so I could only gaze on weekends/holidays during the winter. I only recently found a decent sun set location. And so, it has taken me over 2 years to reach a time of 30 minutes where I am at now. Many of the practises introduced in this course are familiar to me because of HRM but Master Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov as well as Helios, Vesta and Surya are new to me. I am intrigued to activate the spiritual dimension of sungazing on a more conscious level. Of course the rational part of my mind needs the scientific studies! But the spiritual part also needs to hear how sungazing directly nourishes it as well. Also the fellowship of other sungazers is important to me.

So why do I sungaze? Desperation brought me to it! A lifetime of crushing depression and fatigue - I was truly in the dark. Sungazing is lifting me up. I am excited to include additional practices introduced in this course such as sunbathing. I cannot yet say that depression and fatigue are a way of the past for me but their grip is certainly less. I realize my fear of the sun in the past - of burning my skin and my eyes is perhaps a healthy fear/respect during the brightest part of the day. But now I am realizing more and more I can accept the more gentle (yet powerful) side of the sun during sunrise and sunset(and the safe hours for sunbathing).

Other little interesting connections I have noticed:
*Eskimos and Inuits developed their own "slit" sunglasses to deal with the bright sun on snow and ice - kind of like the pinhole glasses.
*The bended elbow version of the fire blooming position is exactly the same as the position used to send distant Reiki. This confuses me a little since I am used to "sending" Reiki energy out from my hands rather than bringing in energy. I'll have to experiment with how it feels.

Blessings to everyone! Thanks for creating and participating with me in this class.

    Marla,

I am happy that you are a part of this course. With your years of sungazing, you should have a lot of good advice to share with those who are just starting out. At 30 minutes, you are at the point where you can direct the light of the sun into problem areas around the world. Also, you should begin noticing a decrease in hunger. Please continue sharing your thoughts and experiences.

I am also glad that you are interested in the spiritual aspects of sungazing. The Hearts Center is at the forefront of this. There are surya yoga groups and spiritual individuals who sungaze, but they don't have the full teachings of the Great White Brotherhood on the sun that you you will find in our Hearts Center Community.
