Question: The question is regarding the Buddhic practice of metta—which is sending loving compassion, kindness out to the world—in relation to decrees. And then also, in this path, what are the masters’ recommendations on using both techniques in terms of how much? Is the metta practice as powerful as decrees? El Morya: Beloved ones, you may not become an adept simply by mouthing words. The intent, the focus and the direction of the stream of light flowing through you, whether through the Buddhic practices that were mentioned or through decrees, are the key. What streams through you through a purified consciousness, whether spoken or unspoken, may be effective, and highly effective, based on the amount of fire that you qualify and direct through your practice. Therefore one may decree without focus, without intensity and, yes, that practice will not be as effective as one who through deep concentration and a resonance of love projects through his heart or her heart the light in the practice of metta. As you know, the Buddha meditates in silence, sustaining the tie with the threefold flame of every lifewave upon Earth. Is this not an example for you all of the highest spiritual practice? Therefore, many high initiates practice meditation and get the results that are needed to sustain life on Earth. Your decrees are an action of the blue ray, as you know, anchoring the light in the physical octave through the power of the Word made flesh. Meditation is more of an action of the golden pink glow-ray, combining the yellow ray of illumination with the pink ray of the compassionate sending of that light. Therefore each is important. Our Western chelas should master more of the Eastern techniques, and our Eastern chelas should master more of the Western technique of decreeing for there to be a balanced action throughout the world. Decrees were brought forth in the West because the Western mind typically cannot sustain visualization and meditation due to the lifestyles of those here. Many of our chelas have made great progress in using the violet transmuting flame, and many who previously embodied in the East as great meditators were required to embody in the West to clean up the final vestiges of their karma using the technique of the violet flame delivered by Saint Germain through Godfre and Lotus and later through other activities and messengers. Your own Ramakrishna reembodied in the I AM Activity, used the violet flame and did not ascend until after that embodiment. Therefore, one or another is not more important; both should be used appropriately when needed. When you see world events that need immediate action, we suggest fiery fiats—short, powerful calls for the masters to intercede in the affairs of men. When you seek greater guidance for your lifestream, this action will not be as effective as deep spiritual meditation, [where you] go within to ascertain with us the answers you need. We suggest that our chelas consider combining aspects of metta with the spoken Word such that when you do pray and decree, the primary energy going forth is the action of ruby love as an intense fire, a concentrated light, [which] through a laser action can be more effective; while also, at times, simply sending compassionate love to all of life, especially in times of turmoil and great destruction, as that caused by this recent hurricane, Katrina. For the lifestreams in that area of the Gulf Coast need a great stream of compassionate love, do they not? Thank you for this profound question. We honor your own discernment, beloved one.
