I found a few paragraphs from the book, "Life and Work in an Initiatic School" by Omraam where he describes alchemy in a perspective that I think is worth remembering!

    Here it is:

"This question of purity is far-reaching, for, in reality, it is not enough to work at one's own purity; we also have to be capable of transforming the impurities that come from our surroundings: from the food we eat, the air we breathe, even from the thoughts and feelings of other human beings. We have to learn to transform all the criticisms and hatred that other people throw at us. You cannot imagine that stones and rocks that have been thrown at me from every direction-mountains of them! But I have found a way to transform all those rocks into precious stones. The gems I give you every day are the stones that were once thrown at me. THIS IS TRUE ALCHEMY. [My emphasis.] Since the earth is capable of transforming ordinary stones into gems, why should we not learn to do likewise? It is simply a question of remembering to do it; you have all of the powers and forces you need within you. Even the philosophers' stone, the stone that transforms everything into gold, is within you. Convince yourselves of the truth of what I am saying, for until you adopt this philosophy. you will always be unhappy and vulnerable, and every little criticism will discourage you.

You have not understood the significance of an obstacle. Why do ships float and move through water? Because the water provides resistance. And the same is true of airplanes: the air provides resistance It is not possible to advance without some material resistance. You have to understand that obstacles and difficulties are natural phenomena, and that those who know how to make use of them advance and perfect themselves much more quickly."

I have been praying about where I need to be. One of the areas is that I have been working on my job search for a while. Just this last week I was offered a new position at a technical school which will lead into a full time position in three months. All paperwork was completed and I was still not sure if this was the right position or not. I decided to take Barbara out to celebrate for lunch and while I was sitting there, the owner of the restaurant came over and asked me about my knowledge on static addressing and cameras. After scheduling a time to come back to work on his network, he stated that the lunch was on him. So not only did I get the confirmation of the new job, I also receive a free lunch and a service call.
