I've discovered that it's possible to gain some insight into some of my past lives via the following procedure:

In the ordinary course of living if I "keep an eye" on my emotions I sometimes notice what I would call a somewhat "unaccounted for" feeling about someone or something I encounter or observe. If I stop and allow myself to feel the emotion for a while and then gently query myself as to "why that thing happened to me" in the past, sometimes images start to come into view in my minds eye. And I've found that if I continue to stay with the thread, but in an observant, dispassionate way, more comprehensive details of the scene and the life come to me.

It's absolutely essential that I resist the urge to mentally assess or analyze the circumstances I'm viewing. I've actually caught my mental mind interferring in this process before. When this happens it's like the force of thinking remolds or morphs the scene into something it's not....instead it becomes an artificial version based on ones expectations and desires. For instance, if you observe yourself making a lot of mistakes in the past life viewing it's tempting to think yourself into being better behaved than you really were.

Instead, it's best to suspend all thought and observe as a small child does--without analysis. That way you'll get the most pure perception of things. And you'll come away understanding more about yourself.

I've also found that it's best not to speak to others of what you see unless you're encouraged to do so in a special circumstance which would really help another person. The more you keep these things to yourself, it seems, the more heaven feels you can be trusted with.

I'm curious as to whether this process has worked for others at times?

Thanks Boyd, for sharing your experience with the akashic field! I have also been able to tap into past records through emotional resonance. My experiences (on the average) have not been as visually detailed as yours - possibly, but seem to provide an opportunity for me to send ruby love, violet flame etc. into a specific record or situation which I feel has a greater transmutative effect because of my conscious attention and awareness.

Hi Boyd, I am just reading your post from last July. Mmm! Yes, thanks for this very illuminating thought expressed quite clearly. May I add that I had a dream once in which I was in a room with tiers of little drawers which I undersood to be Akashic records. I have often visualized this before sleep in desiring info to clear something that came up, similar to that which you have expressed. This is my way of recognizing and often starting some action on it. Pro or Con.

I've practiced this more over the past year and I've benefited greatly by doing as Cheryl says.

In one case, I had had a very difficult time in the past with a particular individual--feeling as though that one was keeping me down and using emotional/psychological judo to control me and others. Naturally I gave in to a feeling of injustice at times and wishing that the person could be "fixed".

In my daily meditation I decided one day to center on my feelings of helplessness and injustice regarding this person. As I followed the thread of this emotion I gradually, over the course of about 10 minutes, saw unreeled before me the details of three past lives with this person. In each case we were at odds with one another-replaying similar patterns of behavior upon one another.

But then I also saw, by the grace of God, that my own psychological pattern of "victimhood" was every bit to blame for this drama as was the "bullyhood" of the other. I saw this quite clearly and I immediately began to actively "see" my victim self as a small child and I held that one and simply poured love and forgiveness to myself. I hugged my little "self" (figuratively speaking) in the form of the personalities from these past lives as well as the present one during my meditation practice each day for a week or more. And I reminded myself each day that my "victimhood" was a major cause for this other persons "bullyhood".

After a week of this I noticed that I couldn't really "find" this victim/child self in my inner space any more....and remarkably, the bully/nemesis in my life completely changed and has seemingly permanently moved away from this former behavior of psychologically bullying others.

So much for trying to "fix" other people....
