Here are a few ideas for a Sunday School lesson on guardian angels:
(The Guardian Angel Song/Prayer was originally created for my granddaughter, age 3. I wanted to teach her a guardian angel pray that was easy to remember, so I put it to a simple song and added actions.)
1. Gather images from the internet of guardian angels, print out or make a slideshow, play angelic music and have the children talk about the pictures.
2. Discuss what guardian angels do. Discuss what guard and guardian mean.
(Time for action)
3. Teach the children the Guardian Angel Song with actions to the tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star"
"Guardian Angel Song":
Guardian Angel (flap arms)
with me here, (cross hands over heart)
Thank you for your Love so dear! (rock from side to side)
Shining light (raise hands and arms high over head)
leads the way (point hands in front)
helps me to (Hands over heart)
Love God more each day. (rock side to side)
Guardian Angel (flap arms)
with me here, (cross hands over heart)
Thank you for your Love so dear! (rock from side to side)
Amen! (arms in a big V)

Here's a You Tube link of me singing the Guardian Angel song: (embarrassing but possibly helpful)

You may also want to send home pictures of guardian angels with the children to put near their bed as a reminder to pray to their guardian angels before they sleep and when they awake.
