I BEGAN TO MOVE MY FOOT FORWARD ABOUT TO JUMP... WHEN SOMEONE TOOK ME BY THE SHOULDERS AND PULLED ME BACK!

I arose from a small bed in a boarding house in Madrid. Staggering to the mirror, I looked at myself. My eyes were bulging and my hair was standing on end as if electrified. It frightened me to see my face, and I thought that maybe I had taken too many sleeping pills. I was dizzy and nauseous. I couldn't think coherently... and I was so tired.

I remembered my beautiful home, a responsible husband who loved me and happy times together with our four children... until that afternoon... that afternoon that changed my life forever....

    ********************************************************

Oh how I enjoyed those sunny afternoons with my children spent in the village plaza where I could chat with other mothers as our children played together. Over time, I had developed a friendship with one of the mothers. As our friendship grew, she confided in me that her life was becoming more unbearable and that she wished to leave her husband but had no place to go. My heart went out to her. One afternoon after hearing of her sad situation once again, I offered her a place to stay with us--a decision I would live to regret.

For this woman who had been my friend and to whom I had opened my home entered into an affair with my husband. Not only had my marriage been ruined but because my husband was fearful of losing custody of his children, he took them with him to Spain before I had realized what he had in mind. In desperation, I followed him there. I would not be separated from my children.

After fruitless searching, I was at my wit's end. And one lonely night in that boarding house room in Madrid I thought, this is too much. I can't see a solution to my problems. I have lost everyone dear to me--my husband and my children. I don't have the strength to fight anymore. I am putting an end to my life.

In the dead of night, I walked in a daze to the nearest metro station. The station platform was empty. This was the perfect time to carry out my plan. With the intent of throwing myself onto the tracks when the next train arrived, I stood close to the edge of the platform hardly breathing as I contemplated what I was about to do. I heard a train coming. I BEGAN TO MOVE MY FOOT FORWARD ABOUT TO JUMP ... WHEN SOMEONE TOOK ME BY THE SHOULDERS AND PULLED ME BACK! I turned my head around, furious at my "savior." But no one was there!

After my initial anger and confusion passed, I noticed that something had changed inside of me as I felt those hands rest on my shoulders. A peace that I had not experienced before enveloped me. Slowly and calmly I returned to the boarding house never to attempt to take my life again.

Years later, I learned about Archangel Michael, and I knew who had saved my life that day at the metro station. Today with this unforgettable event forty years into my past, I am eternally grateful to God and to Archangel Michael for the gift of life which has been so full and fulfilling for me as I continue to grow spiritually and to walk in his protection day by day.

All I can say is WOW. I don't know whether to feel sorry for you for those past events or grateful to see my life is not that bad. In any case, I'm glad your story had a happy ending and that you are happy now. Thanks for sharing.
