    Dear Wayne and classmates,
I read in Dr. Mercola's newsletter about his tanning beds and his full spectrum lightbulbs. His tanning beds are also full spectrum bulbs. What is your opinion of these products? Would it be good to use the full spectrum tanning beds in situations where there isn't any sun available for long periods of time? It is supposed to heal many physical problems, like arthritis of the spine, skin problems etc. We do use the full spectrum light bulbs and have experienced much less eye strain in the evening when we turn on our lamps and lights. Thank you for your amazing classes!!

    Donna,

I went to Dr. Mercola's website and checked it out. I also called the customer service number and asked some questions. Dr. Mercola does understand the benefits of UV radiation in moderation and color light that we have talked about in the course. He does say that natural sunlight is best. His standup units and tanning beds do appear to be safe, with not too intense UVA and UVB radiation and no X-ray radiation. The customer service person assured me that there is none. I would say that if you can afford it, get one. They range in price from $525 to $1500. But for most people, it might be cheaper to spend $30 a month on vitamin D pills during the winter, using Mercola's full-spectrum light bulbs and shining blue light on their skin or breathing pink light to eliminate wrinkles.
