How do the virtues of God-obedience manifest through your heart and being? Beloved Godre, God Obedience, says: “Blessed hearts, obedience to holy purpose, your higher purpose, is the need of the hour for every heartfriend to consider. And this alignment with Source, as the truing of your soul with Spirit, is such a magnanimous occurrence that when you fully understand the flame of obedience, not to just human institutions, laws or rituals, but truly to that Divine Presence which honors all, which knows all, which loves all then, blessed hearts, you will understand why I took this name and why I am so enfired by this flame that it is my love and desire to impress this great divine energy upon all life in the matter planes.” During our class, the following virtues were offered: acceptance, surrender to the God’s will, devotion, listening to the inner voice and acting on what you receive, love, deep respect for the Masters and our higher Self, trust, integrity, faith, and compliance.

☻ Characteristics: What I experience as Characteristic in the 12 within the 12. In exploring the Virtues I will take this list with me during the coming months ahead. I assume it will grow and therefore I will post it on the forum every month. • Characteristic to me is that every Virtue in itself has the potential to Embrace the total. Yes, it can be used in a direct and practical way — but surely can be experienced as an all Embracing state of being as well. Experiencing fullness all around is key. • The virtues are profoundly connected with what I call, soul expression. Through soul expressivity and soulfullness (our authenticity) — and the Way and Ray we are — we become the radiant, emanating virtues ones. • Virtues can be experienced when being in the Now, in contact with the I AM Consciousness — and one with the level in which you experience the Now, your own conscious awareness of heart, soul, mind and Spirit. All of these levels have their own fullness, add their own color, dimension, nuance, perspective, variegation and emanation. Definition of the virtues: Attitudes of mind. (Who sometimes differ in subtle ways from one another). |

♦ Faithfulness / Loyalty to oneself. Reflecting upon the 12 attitudes of mind of God-Obedience I belief faithfulness, being loyal and true to oneself is one of them. I do not speak of faithfulness in general to someone, something or certain causes etc. But the inner drive to be faithful to your inner core and reason for being first and foremost—being faithful to all that emerges from within. The ability to pay allegiance to all that is real and essential and of truth within oneself . . . to know yourself (as God knows you). |

The most exquisite example of obedience to me is the life of Joan of Arc, the Maiden of Orleans. She illustrated obedience in its truest form. She was thirteen and a half, in the summer of 1425 when she was visited by Saint Michael, Saint Catherine and Saint Margaret and others. "Although Joan never made any statement as to the date at which the voices revealed her mission, it seems certain that the call of God was only made known to her gradually. But by May, 1428, she no longer doubted that she was bidden to go to the help of the king, and the voices became insistent, urging her to present herself to Robert Baudricourt, who commanded for Charles VII in the neighbouring town of Vaucouleurs. This journey she eventually accomplished a month later, but Baudricourt, a rude and dissolute soldier, treated her and her mission with scant respect, saying to the cousin who accompanied her: "Take her home to her father and give her a good whipping." I cannot imagine such obedience; however this shining example demonstrated by Joan gives one pause to consider what we may do to give obeisance to God in our own lives. "But perhaps the most interesting fact connected with this early stage of her mission is a letter of one Sire de Rotslaer written from Lyons on 22 April, 1429, which was delivered at Brussels and duly registered, as the manuscript to this day attests, before any of the events referred to received their fulfilment. The Maid, he reports, said "that she would save Orléans and would compel the English to raise the siege, that she herself in a battle before Orléans would be wounded by a shaft but would not die of it, and that the King, in the course of the coming summer, would be crowned at Reims, together with other things which the King keeps secret." To decipher the virtues that comprise "Obedience", I revel in the life of Joan of Arc. You see immediately that Belief in God is imperative, total Faith and Trust in His Word and Fearlessness. Unwavering Committement, Passion, Grace, Submission to the Will of God, Love,Honor,Purpose and Determination. The words of Joan of Arc before the Ecclesiastical Judges gives the breath, height and depth of Obedience. "I came from God. There is nothing more for me to do here! Send me back to God, from Whom I came" |

Virtues of God-Obedience: ♦ Inner pondering / Inner weighing. To me it is the ability to innerly consider and weigh things within the equilibrium of the heart. The ability to assign value and importance to what is discerned within the listening heart — as if you weigh the importance and significance of something in one’s hand. The growing desire to know what is being wished for from the Divine — an inner state of listening discernment. Not necessarely with the intention to 'obey', but to expand and deepen ones listening awareness first (before deciding which way to go etc). ♦ Continual refinement of this weighing attititude of mind. The conscious awareness to continuously refine this pondering and weighing within the heart – even when you think you have understood the value / depth / significance of something. The process in itself is a continual process and a virtue in itself. ♦ The courage to be the one you feel you are meant to be.

A virtue of God-obedience: ♦ Intuïtion— Or the courage to trust your Intuitive faculties and to act upon them accordingly. I would like to describe Intuition and ones Intuitive Faculties as the means whereby the soul communicates the consciousness of the Higher Self [Oneness in God] to the lower self [here and Now]. When your soul abides within this listening attitude of mind, of intuitive sensing and listening, you can also feel that God in a most loving and intimate way is always calling us, his loved ones. He radiates and emanates a continual invitation to abide . . ! To abide and commune with him in his Consciousness, Being and world. The words Obey and Abide— The word ‘obedience’ comes from the Latin root word oboedire, which means ‘to listen’. Having a listening ear to the consciousness and Presence of God. Throughout human history this word is often associated with and interpreted as a demand or a command. However, on the inner planes one can feel that it’s not about obeying but about ‘abiding’. To innerly abide in the consciousness of God wherein one is receiving and listening to what is conveyed to you. It is actually the only way for our God to convey to us his Presence and for us to receive his consciousness and to commune with everlasting Life and Present awareness. So obedience (or Conformity to ones Inner Blueprint) naturally follows this intimate and loving state of communion. For it is because you innerly know the sound and emanation of God’s Presence that you are able to discern how it is calling you. Describing Intuitive feelings— I myself try to give words to intuitive feelings as much as possible in a variety of ways. I try to grasp and feel the essence that is conveyed and sometimes I train myself to express this essence in 4 - 5 different ways of saying. Sometimes intuititive feelings are very clear and sometimes it’s very subtle. It is not always easy to listen and follow your intuition, because in day to day life there is a lot of distraction. And yes, sometimes it takes courage to follow your intuition. But, making notes and writing down your inspirations can help to become more consciously aware of all that is essential and to act upon these promptings accordingly. In so doing you will start to assign more value to your intuitive inspirations. And sometimes [through your attentiveness] there is the transfer of so much more to digest. So I would say, ABIDE—whenever you can . . . !

As I muse upon the Virtues I consider the following attitudes of mind also as Virtues of God-Obedience. ♦ Acknowledgement— Giving obeisance and acknowledgement to the Greatness of God, the All Embracing I AM. And likewise to the Greatness of your own individual I AM Presence and its ever widening perspectives. ♦ The Joy of Living— Being glad and joyfully in touch with your own Life. To live your Life in joy and gladness (over and over again) in answer to the wonderful Gift of Life you have received.

My final contribution: ♦ Experiencing Unity— I and my Father are One! . . . And to live from this. ♦ Continuation— See to it that things you choose in essence or stand for will continue to be. This in the knowledge that you are part of eternity and you are eternal yourself also. A personal legacy into eternity can follow as a consequence. Difficult to describe in English.
