Mark L. Prophet
December 24, 1918 - February 26, 1973
Mark L. Prophet founded The Summit Lighthouse on August 7, 1958, in Washington DC.
A spiritual seeker from an early age, he possessed all nine gifts of the Holy Spirit. He began his training to become a messenger under the instruction of the ascended master El Morya in 1952. He recorded the teachings that he received from El Morya during this time, and they were later published as the Ashram Notes.
He became an annointed Messenger of the Ascended Masters of the Great White Brotherhood and delivered more than 1,000 dictations from ascended masters, angels and cosmic beings between 1958 and 1973, which he published as the Pearls of Wisdom.
He also formed the Keepers of the Flame Fraternity in 1961, composed of devotees committed to upholding the flame of God through daily prayer work.
Mark met his twin flame, Elizabeth Clare Wulf in 1961. They were married in 1963 and he trained her to become a messenger as well. Mark had four of his nine children with his beloved Elizabeth.
Mark was renowned for his wisdom and kindness and was fond of teaching great spiritual truths with storytelling. Many of these teachings were recorded as "Sermons for a Sabbath Evening." Mark's warmth and humor are very much in evidence in these precious tapes.
He made his ascension (his soul's reunion with God)on the day of his passing on February 26, 1973. He took the ascended master name of Lanello, a combination of the names Lancelot and Longfellow--two of his previous embodiments.
He encourages us to call to him as the "ever-present guru" in our midst for help with all of our endeavors.
