Kuan Yin known as the Mother of Mercy in the East, has been worshipped by Buddhists for thousands of years. She is the greatest of Bodhisattvas and embodies the totality of compassion for humanity. She removes obstacles, erases past offenses, dispenses mercy, healing and spiritual graces, while always meeting the true inner needs of the soul.

"Hearer of Sounds"

Her shortened Chinese name,  Kuan Yin, means “Hearer of Sounds.” Her full name, Kuan Shih Yin,  means “Hearer of the World’s Sounds.” According to Eastern tradition, when Kuan Yin was about to enter heaven, as she stood on the very threshold, she could hear the cries of humanity. She did not enter but returned to help all who suffer in the earth plane. The term “Hearer of Sounds" can also be translated as “perceiver” or “regarder” of the world’s sounds. She is known in much of Asia as a divine emanation that answers the prayers of those who faithfully call upon her name.

Bodhisattva of Compassion

One of her many titles is Bodhisattva of Compassion. Bodhisattva is a Sanskrit word—bodhi meaning "enlightenment"  and sattva translated as "reality" or "existence." A bodhisattva is an enlightened being who has vowed to forgo higher realms and full liberation in order to assist those still struggling in the physical world. A bodhisattva cultivates virtue and pursues his/her spiritual career while on a path of self-sacrifice for the welfare of others and gives compassionate, loving service to humanity and to all sentient life. A bodhisattva (P’u Sa in Chinese) can be a person still in embodiment or a celestial being like Kuan Yin. At this highest transcendent level, the title is mahasattva.

Kuan Yin Mercy Prayer

Kuan Yin is a cross-cultural, nondenominational figure revered by many spiritual and religious traditions around the world. She serves the aspirants of all spiritual heritages and paths. Those who espouse a concept of an impersonal, formless divinity see her as an expression of the essence of compassion, or as a symbol of it. Others who acknowledge a personal Godhead view her as a divine embodiment of this virtue. Some view her as both the impersonal and personal manifestations of divine compassion, with no contradiction. She nurtures the growth of this quality in us through our devotions and our interpersonal relationships with others.

Kuan Yin      May 17, 2018

Beloved Kuan Yin

Good evening, everyone. God bless you. This HeartStream is from beloved Kuan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy, and the title is “

The Art and the Heart of Mercy

.”

The Art and the Heart of Mercy

Beloved Ones,

Extending mercy to others and to all life is an art that comes from the heart. Living in mercy's flame is an artful spiritual practice that is mastered by being heart-centered. As an art, mercy requires many lessons to be learned. Just as we love God and ourselves and then others, so consider how to be merciful to God, to self and others.

Many people blame God for their or others' troubles, for personal or planetary disasters and for all manner of situations or occurrences. Yet God is all loving, all-forgiving, all-knowing and all-merciful.

Practice being merciful to God. How? you ask. Consider God's feelings and desires for all created beings to first acknowledge his/her existence, then to revere, to worship, to adore and finally to emulate God by seeking oneness through merging with God. Some seem to think that in God's omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence that he/she doesn't feel or desire anything. Quite the contrary—God feels everything and God is supernally sentient.

God desires everything and everyone to be happy, whole and Self-realized. If we realize this, we will help God and be merciful to God and seek to embody mercy as God does—with everyone, everywhere and all the time.

We can make mercy, as an art, fun! It can be exciting to seek how mercy can be accessed, utilized and artistically shared each day. Make it a game. “O Lord, let's play together today! As we pray, sing, dance and play together, use me as your messenger of mercy to bring missives of mercy and mirth to others. O God, I know that you are all-merciful. Help me to multiply your mercy today, to magnify your mercy this hour and to maximize your mercy every moment. Help me to bring the magnanimity and magnificence of mercy into play in my life, which is yours today. I give my life to you, O God. And as I have surrendered my lesser self, help me to embrace my greater God Self. O Beloved of beloveds, shower mercy upon all life through my heart today. I thank you.”

The heart of mercy is the heart of loving-kindness, reverence, gentility and nonjudgment. The heart of mercy sings its song to the Divine Mother throughout the day, for she is the Shekinah of mercy. The Mother teaches her children the sacred art of being mercy, of living ever in the eternal flame of mercy, which is a healing and restorative flame that is cool and soothing, sweet and caressing in its alchemical ability to comfort all and return all to godliness and perfect beingness in love.

Mercy speaks to the heart and soul first, and then when the mind is awakened, it too will be inspired with Mercy's wisdom and seek her ways. Mercy proves the law of divine jurisprudence, which embodies truth, yet which also balances the scales of justice with her grace to bring all into equanimity and harmony.

Thus, Mercy knows and replenishes all in a perfect field of harmony. Harmony is a precursor to supply. So if you desire greater abundance in your life, practice the art of mercy. For it restores your ability to receive greater health, happiness and abundance because you live in a harmonic and balanced state of being.

Mercy is a wise Mother who cherishes every soul no matter what that one's station in life is, no matter what that one's nationality, race, creed or karmic state is. Mercy is the alchemical key that dissolves karma through its amethyst-joy light field of unrelenting and perfect forgiveness. Thus, mercy speeds up our spiritual evolution and Self-realization. If you would like to evolve more quickly, be merciful.

If you would like greater spiritual attainment, practice Mercy's art forms. If you desire true oneness with God at the highest levels of Solar awareness and cosmic consciousness, learn the mysteries of Mercy. Become beholden to her—be her handmaiden, her helpmeet, her friend.

The more bodhisattvas of Mercy we have walking the Earth as extensions of my heart, the sooner we will co-create a Golden-Crystal Age of enlightenment, freedom and brother/sisterhood on Earth. Through love, mercy is the sure portal to divine beingness and holiness, to oneness with God and to eternal life.

Be love; be mercy; be one with me and with God. Thank you.
