Kuan Yin Shares Teachings on Maintaining a Merciful Heart amidst Duality.

Kuan Yin known as the Mother of Mercy in the East, has been worshipped by Buddhists for thousands of years. She is the greatest of Bodhisattvas and embodies the totality of compassion for humanity. She removes obstacles, erases past offenses, dispenses mercy, healing and spiritual graces, while always meeting the true inner needs of the soul.

"Hearer of Sounds"

Her shortened Chinese name,  Kuan Yin, means “Hearer of Sounds.” Her full name, Kuan Shih Yin,  means “Hearer of the World’s Sounds.” According to Eastern tradition, when Kuan Yin was about to enter heaven, as she stood on the very threshold, she could hear the cries of humanity. She did not enter but returned to help all who suffer in the earth plane. The term “Hearer of Sounds" can also be translated as “perceiver” or “regarder” of the world’s sounds. She is known in much of Asia as a divine emanation that answers the prayers of those who faithfully call upon her name.

Kuan Yin removes obstacles, erases past offenses, dispenses mercy, healing and spiritual graces, while always meeting the true inner needs of the soul.

Bodhisattva of Compassion

One of her many titles is Bodhisattva of Compassion. Bodhisattva is a Sanskrit word—bodhi meaning "enlightenment"  and sattva translated as "reality" or "existence." A bodhisattva is an enlightened being who has vowed to forgo higher realms and full liberation in order to assist those still struggling in the physical world. A bodhisattva cultivates virtue and pursues his/her spiritual career while on a path of self-sacrifice for the welfare of others and gives compassionate, loving service to humanity and to all sentient life. A bodhisattva (P’u Sa in Chinese) can be a person still in embodiment or a celestial being like Kuan Yin. At this highest transcendent level, the title is mahasattva.

Kuan Yin Mercy Prayer

Kuan Yin is a cross-cultural, nondenominational figure revered by many spiritual and religious traditions around the world. She serves the aspirants of all spiritual heritages and paths. Those who espouse a concept of an impersonal, formless divinity see her as an expression of the essence of compassion, or as a symbol of it. Others who acknowledge a personal Godhead view her as a divine embodiment of this virtue. Some view her as both the impersonal and personal manifestations of divine compassion, with no contradiction. She nurtures the growth of this quality in us through our devotions and our interpersonal relationships with others.

The Discernment of Mercy
You Must Have the Gifts of the Holy Spirit

David:  Kuan Yin would share with us on the discrimination and discernment of mercy.

To fully understand Mercy and her ways, you must have the gifts of the Holy Spirit, discerning the exact portion of mercy that can be conveyed in any given situation. This discernment comes through attention on the Divine—the Divine within the one to whom mercy is extended, the Divine within you as the instrument for the release and distribution of mercy. To have this discrimination, there is the decriminalization [of darkness] by focus upon the One, whereby duality is dissolved and the flow of light manifests fully. You no longer discern the stream of mercy as something separate from yourself, just as God is not separate from yourself. You simply are mercy. And the light of mercy itself knows exactly how, where, when and why the radiance of its healing qualities may be bestowed unto one and all.
Discernment of spirits is key for every heartfriend to call forth. And this discernment comes through attention upon the light radiance flowing through your Self. When you receive a teaching and have true discernment, there is an inner sense of “Aha! Yes, this is true. This I resonate with.” And when something comes forth that is out of kilter or does not resonate within you, then you can discern instantly by vibration that which one or another presents. And yet sometimes we come to challenge the paradigm of past beliefs or systems or modes of thinking, and it takes great discernment to know when the master's light and radiance is within the message that may challenge your outer mind, which has become accustomed to a certain way of thinking, of processing information, of understanding your life. Here is the rub. And only by and through the Holy Spirit, through the gift of the merciful heart may you fully understand and know the reality of the message, the light within the message and its impetus to move you into higher consciousness.
Sometimes we clothe or hide a kernel of transformative power, as a seed of light, within a message as a challenge to you to open it and to perceive how it may be for you a portal to a new level of discernment and awareness. And therefore even the Zen masters East and West at times present something that appears to be innocuous [though] jagged in its manifestation, in order to create a point of irritation within you that then becomes a goad to discern something new and greater, something higher, creating a new platform upon which you may step into greater God-sufficiency in the light.
You see, blessed ones, it is always a challenge for us to provide you with a new impetus when you come into a certain comfortability on the path, a certain stasis, even of nonmovement. And therefore there come into your lives individuals, situations, even diseases or great traumas to shock you out of an ancient pattern of certain nonbeingness in Solar Presence. If you can discern God's plan within these seeming crises and accept through surrender the higher pathway to the light that we provide, then you may grow by mercy and through the heart of Mercy into a new spiritual level of beingness. It is as a metamorphosis of your soul, the shedding of the proverbial onion skin, the flowering of the Divine within you day after day.
Mercy comes as a challenge to some, even within the softness of her voice and the sweetness of her message. For not all may drink of the concentrated elixir of her radiance unless they first empty the chalice of the lesser self to receive the nectar of the new liquid-light radiance from her heart.
Thus I have come this day to clear away ancient patterns of nonforgiveness, of a certain lack of grace and of the unmerciful heart. And I bestow a new rose of mercy unto those of you who are ready for the elixir of light being prepared by the Mothers of the Spirit, who would wash you clean and provide the new garments of living light into which you may step and abide as sons and daughters of Mercy.
So as you give your ritual this day, abide in the very heart of the merciful one who comes through anyone as a messenger of light to test you and to provide you with opportunity to be merciful, compassionate—to be my heart in action. I thank you.
