Kuan Yin known as the Mother of Mercy in the East, has been worshipped by Buddhists for thousands of years. She is the greatest of Bodhisattvas and embodies the totality of compassion for humanity. She removes obstacles, erases past offenses, dispenses mercy, healing and spiritual graces, while always meeting the true inner needs of the soul.

"Hearer of Sounds"

Her shortened Chinese name,  Kuan Yin, means “Hearer of Sounds.” Her full name, Kuan Shih Yin,  means “Hearer of the World’s Sounds.” According to Eastern tradition, when Kuan Yin was about to enter heaven, as she stood on the very threshold, she could hear the cries of humanity. She did not enter but returned to help all who suffer in the earth plane. The term “Hearer of Sounds" can also be translated as “perceiver” or “regarder” of the world’s sounds. She is known in much of Asia as a divine emanation that answers the prayers of those who faithfully call upon her name.

Bodhisattva of Compassion

One of her many titles is Bodhisattva of Compassion. Bodhisattva is a Sanskrit word—bodhi meaning "enlightenment"  and sattva translated as "reality" or "existence." A bodhisattva is an enlightened being who has vowed to forgo higher realms and full liberation in order to assist those still struggling in the physical world. A bodhisattva cultivates virtue and pursues his/her spiritual career while on a path of self-sacrifice for the welfare of others and gives compassionate, loving service to humanity and to all sentient life. A bodhisattva (P’u Sa in Chinese) can be a person still in embodiment or a celestial being like Kuan Yin. At this highest transcendent level, the title is mahasattva.

Kuan Yin Mercy Prayer

Kuan Yin is a cross-cultural, nondenominational figure revered by many spiritual and religious traditions around the world. She serves the aspirants of all spiritual heritages and paths. Those who espouse a concept of an impersonal, formless divinity see her as an expression of the essence of compassion, or as a symbol of it. Others who acknowledge a personal Godhead view her as a divine embodiment of this virtue. Some view her as both the impersonal and personal manifestations of divine compassion, with no contradiction. She nurtures the growth of this quality in us through our devotions and our interpersonal relationships with others.

Understand the Science of Mercy
Imparting a New Essence of Mercy
Garner the Oil of Mercy as Bodhisattvas of Love

Blessed Bodhisattvas of My Heart,

I come with a new essence of mercy to impart to you in the stillness of your meditation upon the deepest levels of beingness within. To ascertain the depth of mercy that is required for your soul's ascent and for the resolution of all in the earth, you must go to greater depths of love.

And, in your travel to the farthest reaches of the universe, even within your heart, you will discern the very living light that is mercy at the core of the flame that burns within you [that] is God. Can you sustain mercy in mindful acts of giving, even in the silence of the Now? You see, you do not always need to interact with another physically to extend the oil of mercy unto that one. But, through attunement with my heart, you may offer the mercy oil unto the soul of that one even while engaged in deep meditation upon your Buddha nature and the Buddha nature of the other.

The true communion of all bodhisattvas is one, for in the circle of oneness we emanate the compassion of God to all. We extend the oil garnered within our chakras as mercy light to anoint those areas upon the earth that need a newfound understanding of compassion, such that all may be resolved. For, the divine solution to all conflict resides within the oil of mercy within each heart.

See the candles before you and how they burn. Whether these are made of wax or oil, the stillness of the fire and flame when not encumbered by the wind will give you a visualization of what it means to maintain the cosmic fire of mercy within you such that you may be a bodhisattva for all life upon Earth. For the oil that burns is your devotion, is your understanding, is your compassion for all. And, the quantity of light that is emitted is dependent upon that level of oil that you have garnered, that you have maintained and that you can now use in your devotion to set life free.

Truly, the merciful ones upon Earth understand the law of love. And I speak the words of that law within your heart daily as you partake of the offering of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of heaven who come to stream their consciousness unto you as you give your Golden Buddha Rosary, your devotions to the Mother light and as you sit in meditation upon the All in all.

There is enough mercy to go around, blessed ones, but you must be the focal point for its release into the world. Therefore, be vessels of the oil of mercy that I may pour upon the Earth day after day. Yes, be the crystal vase and fill this daily. For you never know where the oil may be required to save a soul, to save a city or even a nation. And, that oil may be prepared lovingly by you.

I am a mother of mercy to sentient beings. Many pray to me. But, I extend my gratitude to those who understand the science of mercy and of how they may also be with me bodhisattvas for the Earth who you are this day and every day, I pray. May the simplicity of the path of mercy be yours even for a moment each day, for when you attune to my heart, I will be there to speak loving words, kind thoughts, uplifting messages to the children and to the world through your voice of mercy.

I seal this company in my heart. You are worthy to be a fount of mercy, blessed hearts. Do not forget it. You are worthy. You are mercy.
