Kuan Yin known as the Mother of Mercy in the East, has been worshipped by Buddhists for thousands of years. She is the greatest of Bodhisattvas and embodies the totality of compassion for humanity. She removes obstacles, erases past offenses, dispenses mercy, healing and spiritual graces, while always meeting the true inner needs of the soul.

"Hearer of Sounds"

Her shortened Chinese name,  Kuan Yin, means “Hearer of Sounds.” Her full name, Kuan Shih Yin,  means “Hearer of the World’s Sounds.” According to Eastern tradition, when Kuan Yin was about to enter heaven, as she stood on the very threshold, she could hear the cries of humanity. She did not enter but returned to help all who suffer in the earth plane. The term “Hearer of Sounds" can also be translated as “perceiver” or “regarder” of the world’s sounds. She is known in much of Asia as a divine emanation that answers the prayers of those who faithfully call upon her name.

Kuan Yin removes obstacles, erases past offenses, dispenses mercy, healing and spiritual graces, while always meeting the true inner needs of the soul.

Bodhisattva of Compassion

One of her many titles is Bodhisattva of Compassion. Bodhisattva is a Sanskrit word—bodhi meaning "enlightenment"  and sattva translated as "reality" or "existence." A bodhisattva is an enlightened being who has vowed to forgo higher realms and full liberation in order to assist those still struggling in the physical world. A bodhisattva cultivates virtue and pursues his/her spiritual career while on a path of self-sacrifice for the welfare of others and gives compassionate, loving service to humanity and to all sentient life. A bodhisattva (P’u Sa in Chinese) can be a person still in embodiment or a celestial being like Kuan Yin. At this highest transcendent level, the title is mahasattva.

Kuan Yin Mercy Prayer

Kuan Yin is a cross-cultural, nondenominational figure revered by many spiritual and religious traditions around the world. She serves the aspirants of all spiritual heritages and paths. Those who espouse a concept of an impersonal, formless divinity see her as an expression of the essence of compassion, or as a symbol of it. Others who acknowledge a personal Godhead view her as a divine embodiment of this virtue. Some view her as both the impersonal and personal manifestations of divine compassion, with no contradiction. She nurtures the growth of this quality in us through our devotions and our interpersonal relationships with others.

On January 13, 2008 Kuan Yin began delivering a series called Missives of Mercy for those who would be bodhisattvas of love. In these releases of light, she desired to direct the currents of mercy into the deepest recesses of our consciousness. By our reverent and respectful attentiveness to this flame of compassion and forgiveness, she will weave a garland of light around the Earth. View list

Kuan Yin      September 22, 2005

Beloved Kuan Yin
David Christopher Lewis

My Beloved Ones,
I descend from the Tushita Heaven with my entourage of numberless bodhisattvas into this place. I am Kuan Yin, and I desire to initiate many of you, not only as my bodhisattvas but truly as heirs to the throne of mercy. Mercy is a flowing river, a fiery flowing river that extends the grace of the Infinite One. And yet, through the divine discrimination, many receive that exact quotient of mercy and compassion based on all that they have extended to life.
You, as my merciful ones, are extending the reach of mercy across the earth. And though we see no limitation as to the reach of mercy, mankind through a lack of receptivity may not always embrace the grace that we bring. Therefore, though Peace has come standing upon the shores of the United States, you see the fury of the wind bearing down now in greater measure upon the coastline of America. For the specific form of mercy that comes through this storm is one that will cause mankind to kneel again in prayer to the One God, in humility, whereby all may know that God is God and that his mercy and justice are truly infinite, even outpictured in ways that seem mysterious to man but are not in the mind of the One.
Some among you are still in the process of determining why it seems that some among the leadership of this Hearts Center movement have in some minds not been merciful to one or another in recent weeks. I, Kuan Yin, tell you that your soul knows the mystery of the history of all involved in this antahkarana of fire. And what has been conveyed through some in a recent missive is missing, truly, the totality of the inner history that we have seen and [that] has been outplayed and will continue to be outplayed through all the players involved. So, some have left off of their involvement with those who have discerned our way. This is understandable considering each one's history.
But I stand this day to defend my own, my daughter Rebecca, who has known me and is truly the very issue of my very being, beloved ones. God's ways are not always man's ways. And so what seems an injustice meted unto one is the specific return of the energies and the outplaying of past records that have come due in this age. Therefore, I say that mercy as the greatest form of justice and love has been extended again and again to many of you. And instead of taking that grace and using it to redeem the energies of the self and the emotions, some have decided that it is better to separate themselves out. And this we honor. For we simply bow and say, "As you desire, my beloved."
Redemption draweth nigh for those whose eye remains in the center of the One. Remain calm in the presence of the merciful heart of Kuan Yin. I AM mercy. Mercy I AM. Will you be mercy for me, my beloved ones?
I thank you, and I return now on the lotus ship to my abode from whence and from where I continue to grace all.

Messenger's comment after dictation:
Kuan Yin asks that as we take communion now, we receive it from Mother and Lanello, both dressed in silk embroidered with gold. Each is in a lotus, hovering above the floor at the level of the eyes, scintillating love and mercy to all. Lanello is in the guise of Bodhidharma.
