Key Teachings by the Ascended Master El Morya

The Ascended Master El Morya

El Morya
An Ascended Master Who Embodies the Will of God

The name “El Morya” may be unfamiliar to some. But it is more than likely that millions have heard about one or more of his past lives. Because of his tenacious love of the will of God lifetime after lifetime, El Morya has come to embody the quality of obedience to holy will. Today he serves from heavenly realms as the Chohan1 of The First Ray2, the blue ray of God's will, faith, protection and power.
Obedience Brings Blessing
Abraham. His story is told in the first book of the Old Testament. Both Jewish and Christian children alike have heard the tale of God’s call to his obedient son. “Get thee out of thy country…and from thy father’s house unto a land that I will show thee.”God promised Abraham that his obedience would lead to blessing. He would be the progenitor of a great nation. Abraham left the house of his father. And God did bless him. Called the Father of Nations, Abraham, even in his advanced age, was sired a son, Isaac. From this lineage the Twelve Tribes of Israel emerged. El Morya was Abraham.
Camelot—a Vision of a Golden Age
In the fifth century, a ruler of mythical proportion enters life’s stage. Arthur was the creator of the Table Round, a culture of brotherhood whose rallying cry was, “All for one and one for all!” His holy knights were reputed for their bravery in battle and service to their monarch and his kingdom. No myth, this noble soul forged a glorious society where respect, justice, courage and truth prevailed—the mystical Camelot. El Morya was King Arthur.
The Price of a Principled Life—Thomas Becket and Thomas More
Twelfth century England finds the soul of El Morya incarnated as Thomas Becket, Archbishop of Canterbury, defender of the church and at odds with King Henry II. Conflict regarding the influence of the church in the political affairs of the realm rise to a fever pitch. And Becket pays for his stand with his very life, brutally slain within the environs of his own cathedral by four knights performing the king’s bidding.
Three centuries later, El Morya returns as Thomas More, Chancellor of England, during the reign of Henry VIII. And once again the soul of El Morya finds himself at loggerheads with the king of England. The same conflict of church and state arises, clothed in different circumstances. Separation from his family, years of imprisonment and finally a sentence of death by decapitation bring to a dramatic end in 1535 yet another embodiment of this unflinching soul. Thomas More’s final words to all who witnessed his execution were, “I am the king’s good servant, but God’s first.”
Akbar, Mogul Emperor—An Attempt to Foster Spiritual Brotherhood
A mere seven years later, El Morya returns—this time to embody in the East. He is Akbar, the greatest of the Mogul emperors. A ruler with refined qualities and varied talents, Akbar increased his kingdom through decisive action in battle but also diplomacy. He raised its culture through art, literature and architecture. Interested in all religions and religious practices but not the conflict they aroused, he desired to unify believers into one religion which he called the “Divine Faith.”
Service from the Heavenly Realms
In the nineteenth century, El Morya, while residing in the spirit plane, collaborated with two other unascended masters4—Djwal Kul5 and Kuthumi6—to work through Madame Helena Blavatsky7 and others in order to teach occult mysteries to a larger body of mankind. The founding of The Theosophical Society8 by Blavatsky in 1875 would be a major vehicle for this purpose.
Lifetime after lifetime, love for the will of God was the driving force of El Morya’s soul, even to the laying down of his physical life as Becket and More. The striving of this “Man for All Seasons” won him his ascension9 in 1898. Today, El Morya is the chief of the Darjeeling Council, a heavenly governing body who serves in an etheric retreat over Darjeeling, India. He works with many other ascended masters—Chananda, Kuthumi, Saint Germain, Jesus, Mother Mary, to name some—for the upliftment of mankind and an instilling within their hearts of a similar love for the will of God.
El Morya Teaches Us the Way to Know Life’s Purpose
In a recent HeartStream10 from June 13th, 2008, El Morya said, “Many desire to know their life's purpose. Few desire to know that purpose within the context of the will of God. And fewer still are able to let go of the human will fully to be absorbed into the heart of God's will through the sacred science and art of surrender. Those who meditate on God's love, wisdom and will within, day and night, create a sacred portal for their life's purpose to be fully outpictured."
Read now the words of this beloved master as he expounds on such topics as the nature of God, the Buddha, heartstreaming, the purpose of the rosary and the meaning of darshan.
1. “Chohan” is a Sanskrit word for “chief” or “lord.” A chohan is the spiritual leader of great attainment who works with mankind from the ascended state. There are seven chohans for the earth—El Morya, Lanto, Paul the Venetian, Serapis Bey, Nada and Saint Germain.
2. The first ray is the ray of God’s will. The ascended masters teach that the seven rainbow rays are the seven qualities of God that compose the color rings or spheres which surround the Solar Presence. The attribute of each color, or ray, is vital to our wholeness. The seven rays are God-qualities that appear as color vibrations. Each person in embodiment is meant to master these qualities:
  •  Blue—the first ray: the will of God, faith and power
  • Yellow—the second ray: wisdom and understanding
  • Pink—the third ray: divine love and compassion
  • White—the fourth ray: purity and holiness
  • Green—the fifth ray: wholeness and abundance
  • Purple/gold—the sixth ray: service to life
  • Violet—the seventh ray: forgiveness, mercy and soul-freedom
3. Genesis 12:1-2
4. An unascended master is one who could ascend but has chosen to remain close to the earth in order to assist more directly its evolutions. In the East such a being is termed a bodhisattva.
5. Djwal Kul, also called “Master D.K.” or “The Tibetan,” is known in esoteric circles for his embodiment as a Tibetan master and also as an ascended being who assists planetary evolution. He was introduced to a wider audience through the writings of Madame Helena Blavatsky, co-founder of the Theosophical Society. Messenger of the Great White Brotherhood, Elizabeth Clare Prophet, revealed that Djwal Kul had been embodied as one of the three wisemen, Caspar. Through The Summit Lighthouse and The Hearts Center, Djwal Kul has taught the importance of the holy breath and forms of breathing that promote spiritual and physical well-being and progress. To hear the entirety of Djwal Kul’s message on union with the God within, click Djwal Kul, February 18, 2008.
6. Kuthumi, an ascended master serving on the yellow ray of illumination was embodied as Saint Francis of Assissi. Master psychologist, his assistance may be invoked as we work on subconscious as well as conscious patterns of behavior that limit our ability to outpicture our true nature of compassion for all life. He serves now as World Teacher with Jesus.
7.  Madame Helena Petrova Blavatsky (1831-1891), born into Russian aristocracy, was an occultist possessing from early childhood psychic abililties. During one of her sojourns in Tibet, she was commissioned by certain masters to share occult knowledge with a larger body of students East and West.
8. The Theosophical Society was established in 1875 in New York City by Madame Blavatsky with the assistance of Col. Henry Steel Olcott (1832-1907) and William Q. Judge (1851-1896) for the purpose of compiling and teaching the occult sciences. The name of the society is derived from “theosophy,” a Neoplatonic term meaning"Divine Wisdom." The Theosophical Society currently has its international headquarters at Adyar, Madras, India. The Theosophical Society of America has its headquarters in Wheaton, Illinois and its British affiliate in London.
9. The ascension is complete liberation from the rounds of karma and rebirth. In the ascension process the soul becomes merged with her Solar Presence, experiencing freedom from the gravitational, or karmic, pull of the earth and entering the bliss of beingness within God’s eternal presence of divine love.
10. HeartStreams are up-to-the-minute messages from the ascended masters through their anointed messengers in The Hearts Center movement. These messages vibrate with the masters’ love and wisdom and anchor light in the earth as they are being delivered and when they are replayed in audio or video format. They teach, exhort, bless, uplift and direct us in specific actions needed to assist not only ourselves but our planet.

Servitors, Partners and Heartfriends
An Inner Membership of the Spirit in the Community of Light

Today I would give you on behalf of El Morya his perspective on the Hearts Center movement vis-a-vis the Universal Great White Brotherhood.
The ascended masters have sponsored by dispensation various organizations through anointed messengers and through dedicated servitors of light upon Earth to bring forth the current revelation of the ascended masters to illumine mankind, to train mankind in the higher ways of light, to offer opportunity for mankind to step up into higher gnosis whereby the individual comes to terms with his own divine Reality and through the path of initiation becomes a part of the Universal Great White Brotherhood.
Although there have been outer organizations with initiations and membership, with fraternities of the Spirit where people join in a common bond to participate in the ascended masters' programs and activities, often the striving individual sees the prospect of joining an outer organization as potentially detrimental to his or her own individual pathway. And so, many individuals do not want to participate in a level of this community life because they have seen what has become of various churches and organizations that did not meet their spiritual needs, and they feel a sense of loss of their own individuality, their own opportunity to participate in what they feel and know as their own highest potential.
There has been a debate within the Hearts Center movement as to whether we should have membership. El Morya's comment on this today is that no matter whether we have outer membership as a fraternal organization, there is an inner membership of the Spirit that you can participate in as you pass your initiations, as you commune with the ascended hosts, as you step up the ladder of hierarchy, because heaven is framed within a hierarchical structure. It is the law of the cosmos and of cycles that as you grow in spirituality and in attainment, you rise [up] the initiatic ladder in a great spiral of light to gain greater understanding of the spiritual laws of the universe. And therefore it is simply part of the process, part of the dynamic of earning your way toward that divine estate of complete oneness with God.
Without works, faith is dead.1 And so there must be work involved in the initiatic path, and that work often entails joining with others, because this is where the greatest work can occur—in community, in the sangha of the Buddha—because collectively we can do much more than we can individually.
Now, in no way do you lose your identity, your individuality in God within a community of the Holy Spirit, but your individual gifts, graces and talents are brought to the table to be shared at the highest level of possibility for their employment, for their utilization within the circle of light of community. And others often receive great benefit by your talents, your skills, your adeptship on the path. Where you become an example of one who has attained to a greater oneness with God, your life can be an example for others, a boon and a blessing and a grace for those coming after you on the path.
El Morya has used the terms servitor, partner and heartfriend as levels of discipleship on the path within the greater community of the Hearts Center movement. These are not meant in any way to be something that we judge or that we claim in a humanistic or egoistic way, but they are simply words that demonstrate a level of commitment to the path of light that we are all on—the path of initiation for the Universal Great White Brotherhood.
A servitor is one who has decided to put his hand to the plow and to do work on behalf of God, on behalf of his Higher Self and on behalf of all holy brothers and sisters upon Earth. A servitor is one who sees the possibility for greater God-achievement by striving. And El Morya has spoken in the Agni Yoga series of books much on the topic of striving and how through work the Spirit is fulfilled in practicality within our lives. If we only dream, if we only meditate, if we only pray but do not do the practical things that bring our life into harmonization, into focus and into balance by employing our hands as a part of the threefold path—love, wisdom and power, heart, head and hand—if we do not employ these hands in work, then are we truly striving to be like God, to be like the ascended masters, who have worked those greater works that Jesus said that we would work because he goes to the Father?
So work is at the crux of the path. And if you are not duly and fully employed in some activity of light, then I don't believe that your life is fully meaningful. Now, many are gaining in years and have retired from their major life work in terms of that [from] which they used to earn income—and I'm not talking only of that, because you can be employed for the ascended masters but be retired from a normal job but yet be very active in spiritual work and in community work, volunteer work and other work. So a servitor is one who is active, engaged and is using the blue fire of his threefold flame, of her threefold flame to accomplish those things, those labors of love that the Elohim have delivered to us as necessary to sustain the Earth and to move the Earth into higher awareness.
Partners are those who partner with God and with one another within the universal stream of the Great White Brotherhood to blend the energies of selfhood with others toward one noble cause. When you partner with God, you become a majority. For we have heard that one with God is a majority. And when we partner with others who also see and feel and know their oneness with God, then we build through many building blocks of our own lives the greater sangha of the community of light worldwide. This is not done only within one organization or movement but within many diverse movements, because the Brotherhood has many through whom it works, through whom it teaches, through whom it emanates light and accomplishes the purposes—east and west, north and south and everywhere—to which it is sent forth to serve mankind.
Partnering with others, joy abounds. If you only work by yourself in the field of life, you will gain a certain harvest. But communing with others, friends of light whom we call heartfriends, and striving with them to perceive a common and higher way, there is a cosmic blending of our light-energies. And this partnering becomes a greater activity because we have surrendered something of our ego and of our self in selflessness, in service and surrender and in sacrifice—the path of the ruby ray with Lord Gautama, with Sanat Kumara and the Buddhas—to build bridges to the higher world.
Every ascended master who sponsors you partners with you. It is a divine equation, with the equal sign in the center of that relationship, that balances all within the initiatic path. And so when you have a sponsoring master, one whom you know within your heart is supporting you, upholding you, rooting for you, coaching you, providing you with the divine resources whereby your life can expand and your mission be fulfilled, you feel the accountability before that master in this relationship and this partnership. And so the guru-chela, or the guru-disciple, relationship is a partnership. And within the Universal Great White Brotherhood, there is this cosmic activity always at play whereby a master works with a disciple to raise him up to eventually succeed him, to gain in the knowledge of all that he can convey so that [the disciple] can do greater works and progress beyond even the level of attainment of the master himself.
If you truly desire, generation by generation, the advancement of solar civilizations upon Earth, you will strive to give to the next generation all that you can so that that generation may surpass and succeed you and may bring to Earth greater divine knowledge, wisdom, hope, brotherhood and love. For until you ascend, you may reembody as the child of your children or children's children, and therefore you want a world that is better off, purer, full of light and opportunities for self-enrichment. And therefore you do all that you can to bring to bear within the world the greatest love and light so that you can be self-transformed again and again in future generations.
And though you may ascend, the dynamic is still there, for the process of evolution goes on, the stream of activity of light spirals upward within the heaven world, and you accrue to your causal body great gifts, benefits for your own Higher Self as you serve and strive to give to others. The soul of your Self is gaining skeins of light as the pearl expands with new layers until finally one day it is at the level where it may be plucked by the Lord and offered to the Divine Mother as worthy of adornment on her form.
Heartfriends are those who understand the nature of true love—love for one another, respect, honor, integrity—the virtues that the angels employ and that we, by God's grace and through the path of initiation, inculcate within our beings and utilize on our pathway. Heartfriends are everywhere, within and without this movement. They are those who are attuned to the winds of the Spirit, whose hearts sing in joy—the joy of serving the light, of listening to the inner conscience, to the voice of God within, and of attending to the angels and the divine presences all around us in the Spirit world.
Heartfriends are those whose eyes shine with light, whose hearts are upturned to God, open to receive new understanding, new revelation. And though we may not always have the same vocabulary, lexicon or verbiage as others within other spiritual movements, having followed a different stream of activity in the Brotherhood's many and diverse streams that quicken hearts and minds, yet we can recognize the light within others who are on a pathway of light, who love God and who are living for a higher purpose. There is no judgment of heartfriends, but acceptance and honor. There is no human analysis of that one's attainment or office or station, but a humility and a sure knowing that all are welcome to the feast table of the Lord within our sangha, even as hopefully we will be welcomed to the table in every other community of light.
Heartfriends emulate the spirit of camaraderie of the Universal Great White Brotherhood—true brotherhood and sisterhood whereby you see the living light of God within the other. You see yourself within them and them within yourself. You know the oneness, the unified field of beauty, of grace, of harmony. And in this acceptance mode, in this presence of divining the Divine within others as a part of the One, there is a magnetic activity of light that occurs whereby we are drawn together as heartfriends to love one another as the master has loved us and to love God within the process of loving others.
Whether [or not] within this movement we ever have an outer affirmation of what we will claim as our personal responsibility in our own holy office as servitors, partners or heartfriends, the dynamic of this relationship with each other is sealed in love within our hearts. And just as those who are a part of the Church Universal and Triumphant are sealed and signified by the white cube within their hearts, so those within this movement, as servitors, partners and heartfriends, are sealed with the thoughtform of the rose within the heart and light emanating through that rose in perfect love-wisdom, in perfect understanding, one of another, [in] brotherhood, [in] light.
This membership occurs whether we know it or not, on inner planes, by the ties of our heart, ribbons of light, one with another. When we embrace one another at our events, when we lock auras, when we sit next to each other, say the same prayers and sing the same songs, and commune with the same masters, these ribbons of light weave themselves through our auras and tie us one with another at the highest level of our Solar Presence. And in this spirit, we have the true membership of light and of love with each other.
It is not through signing outer documents that the inner initiations are fulfilled and won, but it is through a deeper connection of the Spirit and a oneness with our Source that our own initiations are fulfilled whereby we also raise up all those to whom we are tied with these glorious ribbons of light. The responsibility that comes when we know that we are one brings us to a point of attempting to do our best each day. For all depend on us, even as we depend on the allness of God. All are raised as we are raised. All ascend at some level as we ascend. As we pray for one another, we are praying for ourself. As we love one another, we are loving our Higher Self. As we strive and work with one another and even go through, at times, the prickly nature of interactions whereby our rough edges are worn off through the friction that at times occurs on the initiatic path, it is for the holy purpose of preparing all of us together to ascend and to be one with God.
Oftentimes there are some within the community who seem to be a test for all. Was this chosen of God, and were these souls specifically sent to us to test our patience, our harmony, our level of love? Have they volunteered to be a thorn in our side at times so that we may learn our own lessons of patience, forbearance and tolerance? God only knows. Therefore we should not judge one another so harshly but love one another, attempt to be patient and understanding at the highest level that we can.
Servitors, partners and heartfriends—these are not necessarily stages or levels of hierarchical attainment but simply beautiful words that express the concept of community between souls of light. You can be all three simultaneously, if you choose, because you may serve, you may partner with others and with your Higher Self and a master, and of course you are a heartfriend to many. So there is no distinguishing one as better than another, more noble than another. And all of us can choose, if we resonate with these concepts and if we would fulfill their inner meaning within our lives.
But one thing that the master says is that few souls make it on the path alone. And therefore it behooves all of us to work with the masters, to work with our guides, guardians and friends, because often if we attempt to go it alone, we will stumble more. But if we find those that have gone before us, who have the keys to the path, [who] have laid out a clear pathway before us, then our path will be surer, easier.
This is the pathway provided by the Universal Great White Brotherhood, our elder brothers and sisters who have gone before us and who have left a legacy of light for us to follow them home to the heart of God. It is not some mysterious initiatic cult where there are weird signs and strange happenings to learn of that take us away from a sense of our spiritual legacy and heritage. The path of the Brotherhood is very simple in one respect, though not always easy. And if we complicate things too much by dwelling mentally on the stages to the extent that we are not in love with the process of becoming one with God, then we must be careful because [we might access] the psychic realms, [which] are not the true divine spiritual realms, [but] the lower astral plane, even the lower mental plane, where many become trapped in simply cognizing with a certain mental acuity many, many concepts but never fully realizing the essence of them in a life lived to the glory of God in humility.
So do not get caught up so much with what has been released through previous dispensations in terms of a mental knowledge, and understand the heart-mind connection, the value of serving one with others toward a holy purpose, and realize your own divine, essential nature in the process of the sacred opportunity within life to love one another. “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends,”2 Jesus said. That laying down of one's life comes through service day by day and not only through one extreme effort at the end of one's life. The laying down of one's life comes through a humble mien, a humble posture of graciousness, of service. Think of the Three Wise Men coming to the crèche to see the baby Jesus. Even though they had great attainment, outer knowledge and understanding of all the divine sciences, the movement of the stars within the heavens, the riches of the world, yet they knelt and gave obeisance to the great light within the young one, for they knew that the true path is one of serving.
So this is El Morya's discourse for today to teach us the way of light, of what we are about within this community of light with the Hearts Center movement. It is a fun pathway when we make it light through song, through the adventures that we together experience in our pilgrimages, in our various events and even day by day in these services, morning broadcasts, and those which you participate in in your Hearts Centers and heartfriends' groups.
We are grateful that you have caught fire at the level that you feel comfortable in burning. And whatever that level of cosmic expectancy is that you are comfortable with within the fires of the Holy Spirit, keep fanning that flame day by day, knowing God in a greater and deeper and richer way, in a holy life lived to the glory of God. This is how our community will expand, heartfriend by heartfriend partnering with each other in serving with the masters to bring about the great vision of the founding masters of this movement and those far beyond who approved this dispensation of grace. Thank you.
