The course will be divided into 4 classes, each representing an aspect of the elemental kingdom—fire, air, water and earth—in that order.

Fire. We will begin with a general discussion of Permaculture with quotes from the Hierarchs of the Elementals, emphasizing the element of fire with practical examples of how the fire of the sun can be captured to support a splendid garden in a harsh environment.

Air. Aries and Thor, as hierarchs of the air element, will give us a deeper understanding of the role of the sylphs and the constant work that they do for the planet. Nature is holistic/non-lineal and truly a work of love, which we will explore. We will study systems in nature, such as the heart, to learn more about their self-organization, embracing a full spectrum of stimuli and responding to the most subtle vibrations.

We will discuss the opening of the doorway into nature and allowing oneself to experience and develop a heart-connection with plants. An update on the situation with our bees, instruction on the importance of trees in the design of our landscapes, and sharing experiences from our walks in nature will be included in our class.

Water. We will review quotes from Neptune and Luara, the Hierarchs of the Water Element, and consider examples of water management strategies inspired by the elementals, which have resulted in sustainable, harmonious gardens. Assuaging burdens upon the elementals by applying the approaches outlined in Buhner’s book—the development of the heart as an organ of perception and imagination—will be presented. Students will continue to talk about experiences from their interactive walk with nature.

Earth. Virgo and Pelleur work with the elements of nature on a grand planet-wide scale and with the tiny beings in your own backyard. We will focus on the areas where we can personally be of the greatest impact, including our calls and prayers as vehicles for positive change.

Ralph Raaths will present a segment on ways the elementals fulfill the divine blueprint from the Elohim pertaining to the rotation of the Earth and its seasons and anchoring this light into the tiniest details in nature.

We will examine the principles of Permaculture as they relate to the soil under our feet, the living veneer of our verdant sphere. Examples will be given of the innovative ways gardeners have worked directly with the nature spirits in developing soil fertility without the use of chemicals and poisons.

Course goals
1. To develop a closer relationship to the elemental kingdom and to Nature.
2. To investigate and share ways of making permaculture practical in your life.
3. To help you better plan your space whether it is  your back yard or a future solar community.

 About Our Instructors

David Christopher Lewis is a mystic, spiritual teacher, composer and author for the Aquarian Age. For three decades, David has been a student of the ascended masters and has studied the world’s major religions. In the spring of 2004 he began receiving regular telepathic communications from the masters in heaven. He maintains that he is not the messenger for the ascended masters, only one of them. He reminds us that we each sit under our own "vine and fig tree", and are each messengers in our own right, offering of our particular expression of the Godhead.

Early in 2005, David co-founded a spiritual movement in obedience to the masters' request. The Hearts Center is This nonprofit organization, dedicated to helping people everywhere nurture their own divine potential. It is a world-wide activity with centers in the United States, Canada, South America, Europe, and Africa.

David conducts prayer services during free Internet broadcasts on The Hearts Center’s website. He speaks at Hearts Center conferences and workshops held around the world. In addition to leading international pilgrimages, David teaches online Meru University webinar courses along with other instructors.

Robert Beese, a  student of the ascended masters for forty years,  has always known a profound respect for Nature, his source of inspiration, and is passionate about environmental issues. For six years, he taught science, and for the past ten years, he has run a successful remodeling business in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California. Holding a Master of Science Education degree, Robert brings a strong academic background as well as a practical hands-on approach to the subject of permaculture.

Robert’s connection with the earth has been enhanced by his experience as a construction supervisor for twelve years, overseeing road construction, underground utilities, concrete and rock-crushing operations, and work on various buildings. He sports a sense of humor that could only be inspired by the gnomes he so loves!

Ralph Douwe Raaths was born in Lusaka, Zambia. He grew up as the son of a farmer and rancher, helping to herd cattle and sheep and tending to several acres of maize. After graduation from university, Ralph entered the industrial instruments process and control trade.

From an early age, Ralph took an interest in evolution and related subjects. This led to an earnest quest for answers to the mysteries of life. He embarked on in-depth studies of eurythmy,* drama, astronomy, astrology, mythology, metaphysics, history, freemasonry, African traditions, mental health and storytelling. It was Rudolf Steiner's methodology of spiritual-scientific thinking that captivated his attention most. After the completion of a four-year training, Ralph received a eurythmy diploma in Teaching and Artistic Performance at the Cape Town School of Eurythmy. He also had postgraduate training at the London School of Eurythmy.

Ralph is an accomplished lecturer, speaking on various aspects of cosmology. In 2003, he co-founded and became program director of Viva Youth College, a school whose mission was the upliftment of young people diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar and other biochemically related mental disorders. He has done extensive work with adolescent, drug and dysfunction-related problems, all based on Dr. Rudolf Steiner's work. He has studied ascended master teachings for more than twenty years and is currently the president of the International Council of The Hearts Center.

*Eurythmy, developed by Dr. Rudolf Steiner, is the art of making speech and music visible through gesture and movement. The training is mainly artistic by nature—poetry, painting, speech and music being emphasized—but firmly founded within the philosophical, psychological and therapeutic subject matter of Dr. Steiner and the Waldorf School curriculum.
