117. Intolerance is a sign of ignobility of spirit. Intolerance contains embryos of the most evil acts. There is no place for the manifestation of the growth of the spirit where intolerance breeds. The heart is unlimited, which indicates how poor a heart must be in order to deprive itself of Infinity! It is necessary to uproot every means that can lead to the idol of intolerance. Mankind has invented various obstacles to ascent. The dark forces are trying by all means to restrain evolution. Of course, as the first assault there is an action against Hierarchy. Everyone has heard about the power of Blessing, but because of ignorance they have transformed this beneficent action into superstition. And yet the power of the Magnet exists in strengthening through Blessing. Much is spoken about cooperation, but at each creative act it is necessary to affirm the consciousness. And what strengthens the power more directly than the Ray of Hierarchy!
He who understands the significance of unceasing labor, he who strengthens himself by concentration on Hierarchy, he who discards complicated formulas in order to transfer concentration to the heart, shall understand the essence of the future.

The key to soulful singing

I just revised my short story based on a true story from the life of Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov. I was stuck trying to think of a good teaching to put toward the end, so I thumbed through his biography and soon found a quote from master Omraam that I put in the next to last paragraph. It is the key to soulful singing.

MIKHAEL AND THE MADMAN OF VARNA

Mikhael Aivanhov was a very wise and loving boy who lived in the city of Varna. Every day after school, Mikhael would follow the other students to Primorski Park along the shores of the Black Sea where invariably the Madman of Varna could be found wandering aimlessly along the beach with a beatific smile on his face. The other children would laugh at him and call him names, but he wouldn’t get upset. He would just smile and pat them on the head. Occasionally, he would break out in song, at which the children would laught and jeer and walk away. But Mikhael and a few others would stay and listen.

The Madman of Varna would sing arias from tragedies such as Aida and Pagliacci in a language that Mikhael didn’t understand, but for some reason they would always make him cry. He felt the emotions of love and sadness conveyed by the madman’s soulful singing.

One Saturday, Mikhael decided to visit the Madman of Varna where he lived in the clock tower near the cathedral. The clock was huge with dozens of gears meshed together in a gear box, from which hung a 10-foot long pendulum that swung back and forth in the space below the clock where the Madman of Varna lived and worked as the official maintainer of the clock. His name was Leon and he once was a successful watch maker. When he wife and children were killed in the war, he lost his mind.

When Mikhael entered the clock tower, Leon was delighted.

“Good morning, Mikhael,” said Leon, bowing low and extending his welcoming hand towards a dilapidated chair. “Welcome to my humble abode. To what do I owe the honor of your presence?”

Leon liked Mikhael because he never laughed at him or called him names, and always listened to his singing with rapt attention.

Mikhael replied, “I would like to learn to sing like you, sir, if you don’t mind teaching me.”

“I would be very pleased to teach you, Michael, but in order to sing like me, you have to put all of your heart and soul into your voice, and in order to do that, you need to have suffered greatly. But I’m afraid you’re too young to have suffered much,” he said shaking his head.

“But I have suffered greatly,” insisted Mikhael. The Greeks burned down my home two years ago and I had to leave all my friends and my grandmother who I love dearly. Then last year my father died in an accident. Now we are poor and barely have enough to eat.”

Well, you have indeed suffered greatly,” said Leon. In that case, I will teach you to sing.”

From that day on, Mikhael would visit Leon every Saturday for a singing lesson. And when Leon sang in the park, Mikhael would join him in singing the songs he learned.

One day, after a lesson, Mikhael asked Leon, “Why is it that you always seem so happy even though you have suffered so much loss?”

Leon put his hand on Mikhael’s shoulder and said, “I have gained far more than I have loss. Yes, it’s true that I lost my wife and children in the war, and they say that I lost my mind. The Madman of Varna they call me. Maybe I have lost my mind, but that is good, because in losing it, I have found my heart. Before the war, I was always busy making money so I could provide for my family. I didn’t take the time to appreciate them fully, to appreciate my home or the flowers in my garden. I had a set schedule and everything in my life was regimented like the precise mechanism of this clock. I didn’t sing. I didn’t love. But the war changed all that. At first I had intense hatred for the soldiers who killed my family. One day, I and many hundreds of people had to flee the city because the soldiers were going to kill everyone. We crowded onto a lumber barge and sailed across the Black Sea to neighboring Romania, but before we reached safety, a storm arose and capsized the barge. I drowned and went to heaven where I was reunited my wife and children. Oh, how joyful I was; I didn’t want to leave. But they told me that I had to go back and learn how to forgive and love. If I could do that, they promised that they would be with me as my angels on earth, and that someday I would reunite with them forever in heaven. So, when I was pulled from the Black Sea and revived, I remembered their promise and immediately forgave the soldiers. I forgave everyone. I loved everyone, and true to their promise, they came, and have been with me ever since.

Michael was silent for awhile, then said, “So it’s not having suffered greatly that helps you to sing splendidly, it’s having loved greatly. Because someone could suffer greatly but still be bitter about it.”

“Exactly!” exclaimed Leon. “The most beautiful voices are created by love. Let yourself be filled with love and splendid ideas, and very soon the vibrations of your voice will be gentler, warmer, more tender.”

Soon Mikhael put into practice this most important singing lesson. He forgave the Greeks who burned his home to the ground. He forgave the worker who caused the accident that claimed his father’s life. He forgave the bullies who picked on him at school. He loved everyone. And when he sang, he put all his love into the words and moved people’s hearts.

"What is most important for the life of a tree? Its roots. The trunk, branches, flowers and fruits are only the forms, colours, flavours and perfumes through which the roots manifest. The roots themselves are black, ugly and misshapen, but what they produce is magnificent. If there were no roots, there would be no trunk, branches, flowers or fruits. No one standing in awe before a tree ever thinks of the roots, how intelligent and capable they must be to have the power to create such a splendid form. They remain hidden, never mentioned, but if they are destroyed the tree is finished. On the other hand, if its roots are in a good state, a tree can be reborn even if its branches are dead. This is a question worth reflecting on.

We can say the roots are represented in us by the solar plexus. Everything we are capable of producing and manifesting comes from these roots, from the solar plexus."

A statement you can use:

You can also empower others to transform hurt into happiness. When the major media talks about the economy, they say, "people are hurting."

You can say:

I am empowering America to tranform hurt into happiness now and continuously.

Addendum to Peter Deunov's prophecy

Last July, World Explorer magazine published my article about Peter Deunov's vision about the end of this age and the dawning of the New Age in 2012. It focused a lot on the end and not enough on the dawn. I wrote an addendum that focuses on the dawn. I used a lot of Mario Duguay's beautiful paintings. The prophecy of Peter Deunov regarding the end of our civilization and the beginning
of the Golden Age on Earth.

Also known under the spiritual name of Beinsa Douno, the Bulgarian Master Peter
Deunov (1864-1944) was a being of a very high level of consciousness, at the same
time an incomparable musician, that gave during his whole life an example of purity,
wisdom, intelligence and creativity. For years he was established close to Sofia
where he lived surrounded by numerous disciples, he, by his radiance awakened the
spirituality of thousands of souls in Bulgaria as well as the rest of Europe.

Some days before his departure to the other world, he was in a profound mediumistic
trance, he made an extraordinary prophecy in regards to our troubled epoch that we
are crossing today, a prophecy about the â€œend of timeâ€ and the coming of a new
Golden Age of humanity.

Here is this deeply moving testament. It is current and so vibrant that one doubts
that these words were spoken almost 60 years ago.

â€œDuring the passage of time, the consciousness of man traversed a very long period
of obscurity. This phase which the Hindus call â€œKali Yugaâ€, is on the verge of
ending. We find ourselves today at the frontier between two epochs: that of Kali
Yuga and that of the New Era that we are entering.

A gradual improvement is already occurring in the thoughts, sentiments and acts of
humans, but everybody will soon be subjugated to divine Fire, that will purify and
prepare them in regards to the New Era. Thus man will raise himself to a superior
degree of consciousness, indispensable to his entrance to the New Life. That is what
one understands by â€œAscensionâ€.

Some decades will pass before this Fire will come, that will transform the world by
bringing it a new moral. This immense wave comes from cosmic space and will inundate
the entire earth. All those that attempt to oppose it will be carried off and
transferred elsewhere.

Although the inhabitants of this planet do not all find themselves at the same
degree of evolution, the new wave will be felt by each one of us. And this
transformation will not only touch the Earth, but the ensemble of the entire Cosmos.

The best and only thing that man can do now is to turn towards God and improve
himself consciously, to elevate his vibratory level, so as to find himself in
harmony with the powerful wave that will soon submerge him.

The Fire of which I speak, that accompanies the new conditions offered to our
planet, will rejuvenate, purify, reconstruct everything: the matter will be refined,
your hearts will be liberated from anguish, troubles, incertitude, and they will

Your present life is a slavery, a heavy prison. Understand your situation and

Everything that is around you will soon collapse and disappear. Nothing will be left
of this civilization nor its perversity; the entire earth will be shaken and no
trace will be left of this erroneous culture that maintains men under the yoke of
ignorance. Earthquakes are not only mechanical phenomenon, their goal is also to
awaken the intellect and the heart of humans, so that they liberate themselves from
their errors and their follies and that they understand that they are not the only
ones in the universe.

Our solar system is now traversing a region of the Cosmos where a constellation that
was destroyed left its mark, its dust. This crossing of a contaminated space is a
source of poisoning, not only for the inhabitants of the earth, but for all the
inhabitants of the other planets of our galaxy. Only the suns are not affected by
the influence of this hostile environment. This region is called â€œthe thirteenth
zoneâ€; one also calls it â€œthe zone of contradictionsâ€. Our planet was enclosed in
this region for thousands of years, but finally we are approaching the exit of this
space of darkness and we are on the point of attaining a more spiritual region,
where more evolved beings live.

The earth is now following an ascending movement and everyone should force
themselves to harmonize with the currents of the ascension. Those who refuse to
subjugate themselves to this orientation will lose the advantage of good conditions
that are offered in the future to elevate themselves. They will remain behind in
evolution and must wait tens of millions of years for the coming of a new ascending
wave.

The earth, the solar system, the universe, all are being put in a new direction
under the impulsion of Love. Most of you still consider Love as a derisory force,
but in reality, it is the greatest of all forces! Money and power continue to be
venerated as if the course of your life depended upon it. In the future, all will be
subjugated to Love and all will serve it. But it is through suffering and
difficulties that the consciousness of man will be awakened.

The terrible predictions of the prophet Daniel written in the bible relate to the
epoch that is opening. There will be floods, hurricanes, gigantic fires and
earthquakes that will sweep away everything. Blood will flow in abundance. There
will be revolutions; terrible explosions will resound in numerous regions of the
earth. There where there is earth, water will come, and there where there is water,
earth will come. God is Love; yet we are dealing here with a chastisement, a reply
by Nature against the crimes perpetrated by man since the night of time against his
Mother; the Earth.

After these sufferings, those that will be saved, the elite, will know the Golden
Age, harmony and unlimited beauty. Thus keep your peace and your faith when the time
comes for suffering and terror, because it is written that not a hair will fall from
the head of the just. Donâ€™t be discouraged, simply follow your work of personal
perfection.

You have no idea of the grandiose future that awaits you. A New Earth will soon see
day. In a few decades the work will be less exacting, and each one will have the
time to consecrate spiritual, intellectual and artistic activities. The question of
rapport between man and woman will be finally resolved in harmony; each one having
the possibility of following their aspirations. The relations of couples will be
founded on reciprocal respect and esteem. Humans will voyage through the different
planes of space and breakthrough intergalactic space. They will study their
functioning and will rapidly be able to know the Divine World, to fusion with the
Head of the Universe.

The New Era is that of the sixth race. Your predestination is to prepare yourself
for it, to welcome it and to live it. The sixth race will build itself around the
idea of Fraternity. There will be no more conflicts of personal interests; the
single aspiration of each one will be to conform himself to the Law of Love. The
sixth race will be that of Love. A new continent will be formed for it. It will
emerge from the Pacific, so that the Most High can finally establish His place on
this planet.

The founders of this new civilization, I call them â€œBrothers of Humanityâ€ or also
â€œChildren of Loveâ€ They will be unshakeable for the good and they will represent a
new type of men. Men will form a family, as a large body, and each people will
represent an organ in this body. In the new race, Love will manifest in such a
perfect manner, that todayâ€™s man can only have a very vague idea.

The earth will remain a terrain favourable to struggle, but the forces of darkness
will retreat and the earth will be liberated from them. Humans seeing that there is
no other path will engage themselves to the path of the New Life, that of salvation.
In their senseless pride, some will, to the end hope to continue on earth a life
that the Divine Order condemns, but each one will finish by understanding that the
direction of the world doesnâ€™t belong to them.

A new culture will see the light of day, it will rest on three principal
foundations: the elevation of woman, the elevation of the meek and humble, and the
protection of the rights of man.

The light, the good, and justice will triumph; it is just a question of time. The
religions should be purified. Each contains a particle of the Teaching of the
Masters of Light, but obscured by the incessant supply of human deviation. All the
believers will have to unite and to put themselves in agreement with one principal,
that of placing Love as the base of all belief, whatever it may be. Love and
Fraternity that is the common base!
The earth will soon be swept by extraordinary rapid waves of Cosmic Electricity. A
few decades from now beings who are bad and lead others astray will not be able to
support their intensity. They will thus be absorbed by Cosmic Fire that will consume
the bad that they possess. Then they will repent because it is written that â€œeach
flesh shall glorify Godâ€.

Our mother, the earth, will get rid of men that donâ€™t accept the New Life. She will
reject them like damaged fruit. They will soon not be able to reincarnate on this
planet; criminals included. Only those that possess Love in them will remain.

There is not any place on earth that is not dirtied with human or animal blood; she
must therefore submit to a purification. And it is for this that certain continents
will be immersed while others will surface.Men do not suspect to what dangers they
are menaced by. They continue to pursue futile objectives and to seek pleasure. On
the contrary those of the sixth race will be conscious of the dignity of their role
and respectful of each oneâ€™s liberty. They will nourish themselves exclusively from
products of the vegetal realm. Their ideas will have the power to circulate freely
as the air and light of our days.

The words â€œIf you are not born again.â€ apply to the sixth race. Read Chapter 60 of
Isaiah it relates to the coming of the sixth race the Race of Love.

After the Tribulations, men will cease to sin and will find again the path of
virtue. The climate of our planet will be moderated everywhere and brutal variations
will no longer exist. The air will once again become pure, the same for water. The
parasites will disappear. Men will remember their previous incarnations and they
will feel the pleasure of noticing that they are finally liberated from their
previous condition.

In the same manner that one gets rid of the parasites and dead leaves on the vine,
so act the evolved Beings to prepare men to serve the God of Love. They give to them
good conditions to grow and to develop themselves, and to those that want to listen
to them, they say: â€œDo not be afraid! Still a little more time and everything will
be all right; you are on the good path. May he that wants to enter in the New
Culture study, consciously work and prepare.â€

Thanks to the idea of Fraternity, the earth will become a blessed place, and that
will not wait. But before, great sufferings will be sent to awaken the
consciousness. Sins accumulated for thousands of years must be redeemed. The ardent
wave emanating from On High will contribute in liquidating the karma of peoples.
The liberation can no longer be postponed. Humanity must prepare itself for great
trials that are inescapable and are coming to bring an end to egoism.

Under the earth, something extraordinary is preparing itself. A revolution that is
grandiose and completely inconceivable will manifest itself soon in nature. God has
decided to redress the earth, and He will do it!
It is the end of an epoch; a new order will substitute the old, an order in which
Love will reign on earth.â€

"Humans will disappoint you and make you suffer, that's inevitable, but allow your spring to flow, that is, do not stop loving. You may say, "But we're fed up with always being ill-treated, deceived and wronged". It's better to be ill-treated, deceived and wronged than to prevent your inner spring from flowing. You can always make up for losses or disappointments, but if the spring of love stops flowing you are lost, and inside yourself you become a quagmire. Obviously, it's better if you know how to direct and channel the water from this spring to prevent it from flowing all over the place and into gardens where it will be helping just wild grasses or stinging nettles to grow. The spring should not be left to run dry, but there is nothing to stop you from protecting it and ensuring that its flow supplies only God's children. And the others, what is to be done with them? The Circle of Love and Light is expanding

Since October, 2008, Patricia DeWitt and I have held a twice-monthly teleconference class, Circle of Love and Light, on the teachings of Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov. Now we feel that the circle should expand in a different format: live book study/meditation groups using www.meetup.com. I have had some success with a book study in the past and have some ideas to enhance it with meditation and singing.

If anyone is interested, I can email some documents: guidelines for establishing a book study, a list of prosveta books with tables of contents, a questionnaire for book study members. I also have a 38-slide PowerPoint I can send on the life and teachings of Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov. Or I can try to upload it to my website. My email address is wpurdin@gmail.com.

Peter Deunov's 10-day Wheat Fast

I just finished the easiest fast ever, a 10-day wheat fast taught to disciples by the master Peter Deunov. It's more of a diet. I learned it from Ivanka Grambelova, who has a book on fasting by the master. If it was in English, I would get it. She says he teaches that one can fast to develop certain qualities, depending on the month. February is the best month for health. Ivanka's husband did the wheat fast one February after his doctor told him his cholesterol was too high. After the fast he went back to the doctor and the doctor found that his cholesterol was normal. He was dumbfounded.

Whatever month you do the fast, it should begin after the full moon and before the new moon. All you need for the fast is plenty of hot water to drink (8 cups a day), 2.2 pounds of bulger wheat, divided into 10 equal parts, 3 apples a day, and 9 walnuts a day. Each night, put .22 pounds (about 3.6 ounces) of wheat in a thermos, pour 2 cups of boiling water in and seal. In the morning, open the thermos and pour out the wheat water. Mix with honey and lemon and drink. Spoon the wheat out and divide it into three portions for three meals. Add the walnuts to the wheat. You can sweeten the wheat with honey. I put a quarter teaspoon of raw honey in my mouth while sipping my cups of hot water. Peter Deunov said it's better to do this than dissolving it in the water, but you can put lemon juice in it. Don't put any salt in the wheat, except on the last day.

It's important to chew the wheat slowly, at least 99 times, to absorb the etheric particles. Eat the apples between meals. Look at the apple and thank it. After eating bury the core and seeds. Before eating your first meal, after blessing it, say, "God, admit me in the hospital of nature for 10 days." During the fast, don't entertain any negative thoughts and get plenty of sunshine. Sungaze as often as possible.

On the 10th day, break the fast with potato soup. Cut one peeled potato into small pieces, cut half an onion, add salt. Bury the scraps. Steam the potato and onion and use the remaining water for the soup. Add parsley, lemon and pepper.

I feel great and I lost about 12 pounds. I highly recommend this fast. Ivanka promised she would translate the fasting book and tell what qualities are developed during the other months.
